Our office is giving each employee an iPad for Christmas. (We number in the thousands worldwide btw.) But! We have to buy it with our own money first, then they’ll reimburse like 85%(?) of the cost after taxing it. It has to be brand-new, not from eBay, not bought online, not bought with a credit card (only cash). So it’s like a gift but not.

Then IT will configure it so we get our work email so, like, we’ll be tethered to our inboxes forever. 

IDK if it’s worth it. I know myself and my supposed iPad will probably end up as a serving tray. Or a portal into a parallel universe. In which case it might be totally worth it. I’m sleepy.
